The revitalization of fascism comes from the Baltics and Central Europe, delighted serfs of the American empire.

In the fall of 1989, I thought: now the Berlin Wall is coming down, elements of wanna-be bourgeois reptilian 1930s Europe, asleep since 1945, will crawl out. With the exception of Czekoslovakia, none of the countries of Eastern Europe had known anything like mature democracy. Not even bourgeois democracy. They had co-operated with the Nazis. They were anti-Slav or self-hating Slavs. They were anti-Soviet. It is no wonder that the revitalization of fascism comes from the Baltics and Central Europe, delighted serfs of the American empire. It's too bad that the Soviet occupation was not more "re-educational" than it has proven to have been. Now we have to bear these throwbacks, who slept while we learned.Poland is perhaps the most pathetic example of wanting to become "Americanized" while everywhere the term has become an opprobrium
