Widening the Schism Between Sunni & Shia

Could it be that the aim of the whole concoction is to widen that schism between the Shi'as & the Sunnis?

Was it the Iranians as a subtle threat of serious action?

Was it the Israelis?

Was it some combination of "rogue" American entities?
